Cell-Based Assay Biologists

Our customers expect us to deliver not only products, but assay designs and protocols that provide reliable answers to their biological questions. Approximately half of the members of our technical team are skilled technicans, research associates and Ph.D. scientists.

Our instrument platform has broad application in therapeutic areas from metabolic disease to cancer, neurological disease, cardiac and muscle dysfunction, in vitro toxicology, and other areas. We work with primary tissue, primary and cultured cells, and isolated cell components.

Assay Development Scientist

Location:  Billerica, MA

Description:  Join a small team developing new applications and assays for our family of XF Analyzers.  You will develop, optimize and document protocols for assays that extend our technology to new cell and tissue types, new therapeutic areas, and new experiment objectives.  You will have the opportunity to participate in, and manage external collaborations with top academic institutions and pharmaceutical companies worldwide, make presentations at scientific meetings and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements: 

  • A PhD in Biological Science with 2-4 years industry experience in assay development.  Exceptionally qualified individuals with MS degree and 5+ years experience can be considered.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in cell biology and/or pharmacology
  • A demonstrated ability to independently perform experiments, trouble-shoot, and analyze data
  • The ability to write reports, protocols, present scientific information in the form of posters and seminars
  • You must enjoy working in a team-orientated environment

Research Associate / Lab Manager

Location:  Billerica, MA

Description: This position involves about 40% lab management and 60% experimental research.  It is a key position, as your laboratory will support the work of our assay development and support teams.  The research tasks will contribute to the development of new applications and assays for our XF instrument family.

Lab management tasks include ordering and maintaining supplies, maintaining laboratory equipment and serving as our lab safety officer.  Research support tasks include designing and running cell-based assays using Seahorse XF and other instruments

Requirements: 

  • BS in Biological Science or related field with 3-5 years experience or
    MS with 2 years of laboratory experience.

  • Demonstrated cell biology knowledge and experience, including cell culture and microscopy

  • Strong communication, software and record keeping skills

  • You must have demonstrated the ability to work within a team, where much of your work will support the work of other
